Hi, there:

In a classic and vintage “I Love Lucy” episode, ‘Sales Resistance’, the Ricardos and the Mertzes become enthralled by the flattery and the gift of gab persuasively unleashed upon them by a sales-rep for the Handy Dandy Products Company.

In the “Friends” episode, ‘The Ballroom Dancing’, Chandler and Ross end up with memberships in the same gym which neither of them will ever use and a joint checking account at their bank which neither of them wanted.

These things happen because Ross and Chandler cannot resist the persuasive charms of spandex-clad gorgeous gym employee Maria and a beautiful bank employee, respectively.

In a cartoon episode of “Duck Tales” Scrooge McDuck and Duckburg’s citizens buy all sorts of things they initially did everything in their power to not purchase thanks to the indomitable determination and inviting, inexhaustible inventory of the world’s greatest super-salesman Fuller Brush Bill.

Clearly, each of these salespeople employed their various advantages to convince their clients to buy! buy!! buy!

And with these examples in mind, here are some questions I hope will arouse a lot of stimulating replies:

Have YOU/you ever encountered a spellbinding salesperson or heard about one from someone Y/you know?

What did this tantalizing tradesperson convince You/you, or the individual Y/you know, to purchase?  How did this mesmerizing marketer persuade Y/you, or the person YOU/you know, to do their bidding?

Are You/you now or have YOU/you ever been a spellbinding salesperson?

What is the most memorable example of You/you being a tantalizing tradesperson who convinced someone to purchase something?  How did YOU/you persuade somebody to do your bidding?

Maybe you all can give Me a few new tips on the art of persuasion. One is never to smart or to old to learn new tricks.
