* “What is the most powerful kind of hypnotism?”
In some form or other, this question and its many variations has been discussed, pondered, debated, disputed, etc for who knows how long.
Are rapid inductions the best?
Are story-esque inductions the most effective?
Is the best strategy to employ some kind of arbitrary trance depth test?
Is giving the hypnotized person simple and easy to follow suggestions with which they agree the best way to deepen their trance?
Does progressive body relaxation, a countdown, or a confusional induction technique work best?
Etc, and so on, ad infinitum …
* I’m not sure who it was, but I recall reading or hearing somewhere that somebody very insightful made this statement.
“Before we can get the right answer, we must first ask the right question.”
That statement got me wondering about the accuracy of the whole “WHAT’S THE BEST KIND OF MESMERISM?” question assumption.
* Sometimes, one of my hypno-fans makes a statement to me which goes something like this:
“BEING AN EFFECTIVE HYPNOTIST IS LIKE BEING A GREAT DANCE PARTNER–YOU MUST KNOW AND MESH WELL WITH YOUR PARTNER’S MOVES, MOODS, AND MORE.”
* Consider this situation:
| Everybody knows a figure-flattering, sparkly, red dress is especially appealing. Therefore wearing a shiny red dress makes each hypnoteuse or HypnoDomme particularly mesmerizing to every hypnotee she encounters.
| Hypnotee-Q has had very bad experiences with women who wore red dresses. Hypnotee-Q’s interactions with women in red dresses are so awful that hypnotee-Q mistrusts, dislikes, fears, despises, any woman wearing a red dress.
| Hypnotee-Q has had lots of good experiences and very pleasurable interactions with women who wore a green straw hat. Hypnotee-Q is automatically more relaxed around and more receptive to any woman who is wearing a green straw hat.
| The Hypnodomme/hypnoteuse has been told by many of her hypnotees that she looks especially captivating when she wears a shiny red dress.
| The hypnoteuse/HypnoDomme knows hypnotee-Q’s history with women wearing red dresses and with women wearing green straw hats.
QUESTION: Which option gives the Hypnodomme/hypnoteuse the best chance for successfully mesmerizing hypnotee-Q?
OPTION: Wearing a shimmering, red dress and no green straw hat.
OPTION: Wearing a green straw hat and no shiny red dress.
OPTION: Wearing a green straw hat and a sparkling red dress.
Rather than asking this question:
| What’s the most effective hypnosis style, tool, induction, fixation point, etc?
Suppose we ask this question:
| What’s the most effective hypnosis style, tool, induction, fixation point, etc for the specific individual(s) being hypnotized right now?
* In my experiences
| “AFTER DOING ALL I CAN TO BE A KEEN OBSERVER, A GOOD DETECTIVE, AND A FINE INTERVIEWER–BEING AN EFFECTIVE HYPNOTIST IS LIKE BEING A GREAT DANCE PARTNER. BECAUSE NOW THAT I KNOW MY PARTNER’S MOVES, MOODS, AND MORE, I CAN MESH WELL WITH THEM.”
And if I’m gonna hypnotize someone more than once, after learning what makes them tick, it really works best for me if I write down and/or memorize what works best for that particular person.
