Hello:On February 13th 2013, Jerry Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers NBA basketball team passed on into eternity.
While listening to people reminisce about Dr. Buss, I realized this accomplished man exemplified many life lessons. Below are just a few of the noteworthy things about this outstanding man.
+ Jerry Buss grew up in poverty in a small town; earned a Ph.D.; was successful in chemistry, aerospace, and real estate investing; and used his skills, vision, and wealth to oversee transforming the L.A. Lakers into a global phenomenon.
+ Dr. Buss gathered around him highly competent people of great character, provided them with the resources they needed, and gave them the freedom they needed to make the Lakers perennial champions.
+ Jerry Buss enjoyed his careers and his (ahem) pleasures. J
+ Mr. Buss loved his family and cherished his friends. And no matter who he was interacting with, he treated each person in ways that let them know and feel he was glad to know them and that they mattered to him.
+ Dr. Jerry Buss groomed his children to handle the Lakers and his other businesses. And people like Magic Johnson say they owe a lot of their successes to what Jerry Buss taught them and modeled for them.
