I woke up in the dark on a cold stone floor. I was naked, but I couldn’t have been lying there for very long, because none of my muscles or joints ached. As my eyes adjusted to the lack of light, I saw that I was in a jail cell. A sliver of moonlight came through a window. Standing up and looking out, I could see palm trees and a beach. I wasn’t in Kansas anymore.
Before panic could set in, I heard a door open. Footsteps approached, severely high heels clicking confidently against paving stones. I turned from the window to see her standing outside my cell, and fell to my knees.
