Hello, spellbound and/or sports fantasizers:
If you are an NFL fan, you may already have a good idea what Peytonosis is. 😉
+ In the Monday night football game between the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers, the Chargers were leading the Broncos 24-0 at halftime. Spurred by their Quarterback Peyton Manning, the Broncos outplayed and outscored the Chargers in the second half 35-0. The Broncos victory is tied with several games for the fourth greatest comeback in National Football League regular season history.
And it is only one of several games in which a team losing by a score of at least 24-0 at halftime has come back to win.
+ Peyton Manning is currently tied with NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Dan Marino for the most fourth-quarter comebacks in NFL history.
* While discussing Peyton Manning, retired wide receiver and now NFL football analyst Criss Carter often mentions several things about the Denver Broncos’ future Hall of Fame QB:
+ While with the Indianapolis Colts and after Peyton came to the Broncos, his personality and work ethic motivates everyone on his team to work as hard as they can.
+ No matter what’s happened in a game, his teammates believe that if they can give Peyton the opportunity, he can lead them to victory no matter what.
+ Because of his teammates respect and admiration for him, they will “RUN THROUGH A WALL” for Peyton.
+ The term “field general” is an apt description for who Peyton Manning is and what he does for any team he’s on.
Because of his outstanding qualities and accomplishments, I’ve decided to honor him with the term “PEYTONOSIS”. Peytonosis is:
“The ability to motivate others, with your character, ability, etc, to improve themselves and do their best and to lead them to success in a Peyton Manning-esque manner.”
I hope you will satisfy and stimulate My curiosity with your answer to this question:
“Have you ever met or heard of anyone who you feel has Peytonosis?”
And I just adore it when you respond with thoughtful comments, questions, suggestions, and replies to My
postings! 🙂
